shout out!
Well pretty much I just got tired of the same post everytime I looked at the CC blog. So here I am changing it up! But Mostly I would like this to be a shout out to queen Sarapatra as I am interested on what is going on with the house search, etc. Also, Call it Courage, any decisions made on your internship? As for me, I am in the midst of weddings now that our basement baby is engaged, Billy and I just hope that our eldest daughter danara can settle down and find a husband. (that last line was actully somthing that came out of Billy's mouth one night)

who is your "basement baby"? sorry, I'm out of the loop on that reference. As far as the house situation...we didn't end up going with the house that I had mentioned to you before (mainly because we realized that it was going to be pricey for us because of rising interest rates and wasn't in a good re-sale area, etc) We are between two houses at the moment--my dad is coming up to take a look at them on Thursday and then we'll make an offer on one. Actually we started the negotiation process with one of them already, but decided to stall until Dad could come take a look. We not sure if it is worth what they are asking since it needs some updates--has an old furnace. And of course Dad made me worried with all his questions about the roof, furnace, electricity, etc! On other news, I'm supposed to be leaving for Egypt in about 5 weeks, but I haven't gotten the final approval or funding yet from the Department of Education, so that is kind of stressing me out because I still need to buy a plane ticket, etc--along with trying to close on a house before i go! What's up with you and Mr. Billy? Any summer trips planned? Maybe Hamdy and I can make it down to your Ohio in August.

Sarapatra, good luck with the house hunt! Are both places right in E Lansing? It must be nice to have your dad so close to help inspect the places. Those Hillman men are so handy! I know my dad is coming to visit us in CO in July and we already have him staked to do some handyman work for us as we settle in.
As for me, I turned in my last paper yesterday! So while I fritter away in Michigan doing wedding stuff this Saturday, somewhere in Indiana a degree will be conferred to me.
And I got a more official offer on the internship I was hoping for. I start sometime in the beginning of August. Phew! Things are finally coming together.
Sanfran, hope you and Billy Bedtime aren't getting any empty nest syndrome with your basement baby getting married. By the way, I love the family pics from a few weeks ago!

I am debating the merits of different systems of making friends and family come out and visit courage and i in the mountain west....

Congratulations on your internship Lis! That is great that you got your first choice!
No, the houses aren't in E. Lansing--we can get a house for at least $40,000 cheaper and much nicer if we go into Lansing north, south, or west! And taxes are so darn high in E. Lansing. Hamdy work in West Lansing anyway, so we are looking for a house that would be inbetween.

O.k. Sarapatra...The basement baby is Amber who rents out our basement. I think you knew this...she moved in with us last November and will be moving out this November. Thanks for the updates everybody!
