It's not revising history, it's improving it.

what's with the pro-columbus hype? he's never detailed in school other than his one 'achievement' - discovering the New World. He didn't. Plenty of artefacts and pre-columbian documents show it. he couldn't have even done it w/o that legacy. His discovery was more significant in consequence than theirs, but doesn't constitue a colonization or a social movement. he was a materialist adventurer. so what? why toast him with wine and history? his name has more history to it than the man himself! do any of you couzes have the smoggiest i-dear who Columbanus was, the propagator of that name? he wasn't a papist i can tell you that. i'm not anti-columbus, anti-WASP, anti-Wisiana-Cajun, anti-Jesuit or anti-Iroquois (actually, i'm pro-Iroquois since their tribal division accurately mirrors the multiple splits and alliances making up Colonial America). If it weren't for Ha de no sau nee (FiveNations) we'd have no Balance of Powers in our Constitution -- not that we're using it right now. No Columbus-Orgy is going to give that back to us.

But i'm for celebrating his Day with feasting and merriment. Esp if it will get these neurotic people to stop working!
